r2 - 17 Jan 2005 - 14:07:34 - TonyLindeYou are here: TWiki >  VOTech Web  > ArchVOTechForums
NOTE: this approach has been abandoned in favour of VOTechForums.

This is a trial to see if we can use the wiki for discussions rather than email- or web-based forum tools.

The idea is that we have a series of pages beginning with Fa: these are the individual Forum areas (see below).

Within each of these is another list of wiki pages, the name of each beginning with Ft: these are the Forum topics.

Then each topic page has the discussion on it, each posting separated by a ruled line and identified by the wiki user.

Note: you can be notified about changes to the wiki by adding your name to the WebNotify page; then you'll get an email each day telling you what has changed on the wiki, including within the discussion areas.

Anyway, we'll see how it works for a while. In the meantime, I'll look into whether there is a combined email- and web-based tool that we can use if people find they don't like this wiki-way of discussing stuff.

Forum Areas

  • FaWebSite: topics to do with the web site, discussion lists etc
  • FaGeneral: miscellaneous topics

  • FaSandBox: play around with the wiki forums
